Tale of a Barfly

A live action play poured from the pages of Jeff Burkhart’s column Barfly and his books

Tale of a Barfly is a story of life, love and cocktails, poured from the pages of Jeff Burkhart’s Twenty Years Behind Bars. An original story of riches to rags that reveals all of life’s questions can be answered watching the world from behind a bar.

Isabelle Tennyson, a clever young woman has everything only to discover she has nothing at all. She leaves her posh life to learn bartending under Claire Jordan, a legendary bartender with a failing bar called The Near Miss. The two forge an unlikely friendship to confront the unfair systems affecting their lives.

For over a decade Jeff Burkhart and Lou Lesko have collaborated on enhanced book readings performed to sold out audiences at the Sweetwater in Mill Valley.
Tale of a Barfly is the next ambitious evolution. An original story inspired by and including Burkhart’s stories. A unique amalgamation that’s not to be missed.
